General Information

Often times shopping for quality
wood
furniture can be a very tedious task. Most consumers maintain that
solid
wood furniture is the absolute best and will have nothing less. The
truth
is complete solid wood furniture now days is very hard to come by.
Sure one might hear a furniture advertisement boast "100% Oak Table
only
$$$$," but often times retailers who offer solid wood furniture
can
be misleading. The frame of the table may be "100% Oak" perhaps even
solid
wood but that does not mean the piece of furniture itself is made
entirely
of solid wood. A lot of furniture advertised as such may or may
not
consist of a solid wood frame on the inside or unseen part and a solid
wood
veneer upon the visible areas. A Solid Wood Veneer consists of particle
board
with a thin layer of solid wood fused to the top. Being made up of
Solid
wood veneer is not necessarily a draw back provided the frame that
supports
it is made of quality solid and the veneer used is of quality nature as
well.

Quality
Upholstered Furniture
There are four categories
that
reflect on the quality of upholstered furniture. Those categories
consist
of ; the frame that supports the piece of furniture, the springs,
the
padding, and the fabric or leather that covers the furniture.
Frames
The frame is easily
most
important to the quality of the furniture. The material used (usually
wood)
and the way it is constructed reflect highly on the durability and the
useful
life of the furniture. If the piece of furniture is constructed of
plastic
or softwood frame it is likely piece will not last long under regular
use,
however a piece with a frame constructed of hard wood or metal (rarely
used
in furniture construction) provided sturdy construction the piece
will
hold up very well under normal use. The price is reflected in the
construction
of the frame. You generally will pay much more for a piece of furniture
constructed
of a hardwood or metal frame then you wood plastic or softwood.
Springs
Springs generally support
the
seating area of the furniture. There are two main types of springs used
in
upholstered furniture manufacturing. standard springs and eight-way
hand
tied springs.
Standard
Springs are a more cost efficient system compared to the
eight-way
hand tied springs. Standard only move in the up/down direction,
providing
more firm seating. Eight-way hand-tied springs, allow movement in many
different
directions, allowing more comfortable seating.
Padding
The padding of upholstered furniture consist of foam, feather and down,
or cotton filling.
Fabrics
and leathers
The Fabrics and or leather used in upholstered furniture greatly
reflect
the quality of the furniture in how durable it is when put up against
normal
use. The fabric if not of good quality can easily be ripped or torn
making
thicker tight sewn fabric to be much more reliable. Leather is a very
durable
natural material. The higher grain of leather constitutes for better
quality
and ability to hold up. Like most other quality of upholstered the
better
you get the higher you pay.

Ready-to-assemble furniture
A lot of the furniture found
at Readysethome.com
are Ready-to-assemble (RTA) furniture, this is furniture that
is shipped
in a box in unassembled pieces and are meant for you the consumer to
assemble
upon arrival. This is done so we can offer cheaper and often times
"Free
Shipping" to you the costumer. Shipping cost is calculated by both
weight
and dimensions (being most costly to the figure). The more the weight
and dimensions the higher the shipping cost. Our manufactures have
utilized methods
to package these items in an unassembled to take up the least amount of
dimensions.
On rare occasions if the customers are willing to pay a much higher
shipping
cost we may pre-assemble upon special request but we do not guarantee
that
this will be done.
